The Maritime Union of Australia MUA has announced further work bans in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane that will see increased congestion and delays to the release and receival of containers.
On top of the current 1 and 2 hour rolling stoppages across all DP World terminals, MUA yesterday announced the following 24 hour stoppages:
SYDNEY: Friday, November 24
SYDNEY: Monday, November 27
MELBOURNE: Friday, December 1
BRiSBANE: Saturday, December 2
Neither the MUA, nor DP World are showing signs of “giving ground” in negotiations.
Based on this we should expect more delays & a rather disruptive run into Christmas.
Our teams are on standby and working closely on your individual orders/shipments.
We will keep all disruptions to a minimum.
