Good news for those impacted by Fremantle Port’s operations: the planned industrial action for the 25th and 26th of August has been cancelled.
Fremantle Ports and Marine Services employees have reached an in-principle agreement, leading to the withdrawal of the planned 48-hour protected strike. Fremantle Ports CEO Jodie Ransom confirmed that the action, which was set to begin at 5:30 AM Sunday, will not proceed.
Ransom praised the resolution, noting that it ensures shipping lines, importers, exporters, and the public will avoid further disruptions.
“This demonstrates that respectful and collaborative negotiation can achieve positive outcomes for all parties involved.”
We will be monitoring the situation and will keep you posted with any new developments.
