We would like to update you that DP World Australia has recently received additional Protected Industrial Action notices from the CFMMEU (Maritime Union of Australia division) affecting their terminals at various Australian ports from Monday, 6th November to Monday, 13th November 2023. The action is expected to have potential ramifications for industry operations, including delays and container detention charges.

The specific details of the industrial action include:

  • Melbourne: Intermittent work stoppages of 2 hours, bans on overtime, shift extensions, and various other restrictions.
  • Sydney: Stoppages of work for 1 hour and 24 hours on specific dates, along with bans on handling certain vessels, overtime, and other restrictions.
  • Brisbane: 2-hour work stoppages, a 24-hour stoppage, bans on handling certain vessels, overtime, and more.

Fremantle: 2-hour work stoppages and bans on handling ships for 8 hours, among other restrictions.
*Continued 2hr stoppages each day @ 0400, 1200 and 2000 from 30th October – 13th November @ 0600.

We understand the potential disruptions that may arise as a result of these industrial actions and the subsequent impact on industry operations, including container detention charges.
